Healesville e-Ride, Bar Hop & Dinner eXperience
Overview:
Start your weekend in Healesville, Yarra Valley the best way possible with this e-Bike eXperience! This relaxed 3-hour cycling tour followed by up to 3hrs of hospitality, is perfect for getting to know the area and seeing its beautiful sights. We meet at Healesville Train Station, and from there, you’ll explore some of the region’s top spots whilst learning a little bit of the history of Healesville along the way. We open this to the Public every Friday at 3pm, perfect for those couples checking into their Yarra Valley accommodations for their weekend away. We also offer private group bookings 4 nights a week (Wed, Thur, Sat, Sun). Let’s ride!
Itinerary:
Meet & Greet, Healesville welcome! (30 mins)
Join your guide & fellow riders at Healesville Train Station for your welcome, a safety briefing, before the leisurely ride begins!
Hello to Healesville 1864-2025 (30 mins)
Enjoy stories of Healesville from yesteryear of how Healesville came to be including the ups and downs of the Town, its forever changing industry focus, as we pass through historic town sites as we climb up the hill in town for some mountainous views.
Healesville to Boat O’Craigo Winery (1hr)
Departing town, we cycle through Queens Park and head east towards Mt Riddell, making a left hand turn, to cross Grace Burn Creek and cycle alongside of the beautiful vines of Boat O’Craigo Winery, before parking the bikes for an optional wine tasting.
Selover’s Lookout & Maroondah Reservoir Park (1 hour)
A great lookout photo opportunity for the whole Group or just yourself at Selover’s Lookout, with the mighty Maroondah Dam in the background. Now we have a taste for its size, let’s take a closer look as we descend into the Reservoir Park, to view the Dam and Dam Wall up close.
Bar Hop in Main Street (90 mins)
Cruise back into town, then visit two local beverage artisans in the world famous Four Pillars Gin Distillery for an optional Gin tasting paddle & Barrique Wine Bar for an optional wine tasting. Bars are subject to change and can be tailored to the desire of the Group. Other options include Herd Bar, Watts River Brewery, Cavanagh’s Whiskey House + more!
Private Dinner at Healesville Hotel (90 mins)
Reflect your journey with your fellow riders over a delicious private dining 2-course dinner + welcome drink at the historic Healesville Hotel. We say farewell and point the night owls in the right direction.
Pricing:
Public Tours: 3.00pm-9.00pm every Friday - $275.00 p/hd
The minimum number required for the Public Tour to run is 2 participants, with a maximum of 10 participants.
Reservations online for Public Tours can be made up until 1 hour before the start time.
Private Tours: Bookable on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday - $2,500 per Group (maximum of 10 participants).
A 3.00pm start time is recommended, but feel free to contact us as start times can be flexible for private groups, particularly in Daylight Savings where we can start at either 4.00pm or 5.00pm.
If you have a private group wishing to book a Friday afternoon tour, please contact us directly. If we do not have any public bookings at the time, you will be able to book.
Reservations online for Private Tours can be made up until 72 hours before the start time.

The simple answer is Yes. Although the actual riding level is easy to moderate, some experience riding a bike is a must. The e-Bikes are very easy to ride, and we conduct a 20 minute safety briefing at the start of each tour and check in individually with each participant before we depart.

By all means, you can supply your own helmet if you prefer, but it is not necessary. We will provide each participant with a ‘one size fits all’ Ampd Bros Urban Bike Helmet, which are CE / CPSC / AS/NZ Certified. Each helmet has a large size adjustable disc so will fit all heads, big & small.

Comfort is key. Wear comfortable clothing as if you would going for a normal bike ride. Bring a light jacket if the forecast looks a bit cool and closed toe shoes are a must. We also encourage sunglasses & suncream when applicable., and encourage you to bring a bottle of water.

The ride is classified easy to moderate. A reasonable level of fitness is preferred. They will be 1-2 inclines on the ride, but once taught how to use an e-Bike correctly, this should be a breeze.

Although the majority of the e-Ride is on designated bike paths or in designated bike lanes, there is some parts where riding on a road is required. These will usually be done on quiet streets and will be performed under the instruction of the ride leader in single file, where your safety is our absolute focus.

You may leave any small items you do not wish to carry during the ride at the meeting point, in the company car. This car will be locked during the duration of the ride. All belongings are left at your own risk.

e-Bike Tours can still go ahead with forecasted rain, as long as it is not severe. Routes/times may be altered to ensure completion. In the event of severe weather (e.g. excessive rain, lightning, etc.) where the e-Bikes are not used at all, a credit will be given for the determined pro-rata amount of the e-Bike contribution to the Tour. A Tour, taking in same or similar site visits, along with planned hospitality lunch or dinner, will still occur to maximise enjoyment of the client.

If a Tour is completely cancelled due to the decision of Yarra Valley X, then a full refund will be offered. If a tour is cancelled by the client, then a full refund will be offered if it is greater than 30 days from the Tour date.

Riding bikes carries risk with a chance or injury. Each tour will have a minimum of one ride leader who will be an AusCycling accredited to lead groups, experienced in group riding and qualified for First Aid & CPR. Yarra Valley X is insured for $20m public liability insurance under Lloyds of London. A waiver & release form will be provided to all participants at the time of booking, or before the tour begins. The provision of this document and participation on the tour is acceptance of all terms.
