Our Fleet

What e-Bikes will we be riding?

Designed and developed in conjunction with some of the top industrial design engineers in Australia, Ampd Bros products are painstakingly crafted to meet the highest standards of performance and durability for e-Bikes. They are Australian-owned and home to the orignal fat-tyre e-Bike.

Our fleet is a mix of ACE-X Plus+ (step over frame, suits riders 168cm+) & ACE-S Plus+ (step thru frame, suits riders 155cm+)

How old do I need to be to participate?

We have a minimum age requirment of 15+ to participate on the e-Bike eXperiences. Not only for safety, but also for an average height & strength reached by that age. The e-Bikes are heavier than a standard bike, but very suitable to an adult or a growing teenager.

How tall do I need to be to ride these e-Bikes?

We require you to be a minimum of 155cm. Whilst we would like all of our riders to be confident riders, it is especially important for a shorter rider. A shorter rider will be allocated a ACE-S Plus+ e-Bike, with a step-thru frame, allowing easier stopping/starting maneuvers. This will be practiced in the safety briefing before departure.

Are the e-Bikes easy to ride?

Yes, absolutely! Remember, an e-Bike is still “just like riding a bike!”. Our fleet of Ampd Bros Ace+ e-Bikes are a simple 7-speed shimano geared bike, that is a little bigger & heavier, but are designed to cruise and be an “easy ride”. When engaged, the battery motor assists you to make easy work of the ride. The bike is designed for you to do as little or as much “work” as you want. You are required to have eXperience riding a bike.

Are the e-Ride eXperiences safe?

Yes, absolutely! Every tour begins with a 20-minute safety briefing by one of our hosts, who is an AusCycling-accredited Ride Leader, also trained in First Aid & CPR. This briefing checks all individual e-Bikes, from tyres, chains, brakes, gears, etc. We then jump on bikes, and test brakes, stopping, turning, taking off. We also learn how to use the ‘pedal assist’ battery motor and we ride/learn in a safe place, and do not leave for the Tour ride until everyone is comfortable. By law, e-Bikes are locked to not travel faster than 25 km/hr. So whilst they are “zippy”, the speed is controlled.

Do I need a solid level of fitness to participate?

To be honest, no. We have had guests big & small, young & old, and varying levels of fitness. In the safety briefing, you will be taught the “rotating the pedals” method of riding an e-Bike. This allows the user to rotate their legs slowly to engage the battery motor, rather than “pedal” with exertion, and they will travel at the same/similar speed as anyone else pedaling hard. This method will allow you to enjoy the eXperience without raising a sweat!

Of course WE are going to say our e-Bikes are easy to ride... But our guests say it too!
